About Us

Mission
Chavalos celebrates more than a decade of transnational organizing, local youth development, and mutual aid. Cultural arts programming includes preserving Central American traditions and folklore, poetry, professional dance showcases, and music, all intersectional to and support Chavalos' local and mutual aid efforts within the Central American diaspora. Chavalos empowers youth through cultural exchange and educational opportunities. We strive to create a supportive environment that fosters personal growth and community engagement.

Vision
Our vision is to preserve and teach the cultural arts to unite communities in the Bay Area and simultaneously form a support system for under-resourced youth and their families who live in our community and Central America through community outreach, community organizing, and the performing arts as critical pillars. Our vision is to build a global network of empowered young leaders who are committed to making a positive impact in their communities. We aim to inspire and equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to drive social change and foster cross-cultural understanding.
